Connecting to WMS and WFS services (read only)
Prerequisites
To connect your ArcGIS 8.3 to WMS services you need download and install OGC Interoperability Add-On for ArcGIS.
Optionally you can download the ArcGIS OGC Interoperability Add-On User's Guide for instructions on how to enable and use these new tools.
Steps
- Active interoperability toolbar right clicking on one toolbar of ArcGIS, and checking Interoperability Tools option.

- A new toolbar is shown. Click on Add WMS Data button for image services and Add WFS Data button for feature services.

- On URL input a discovery URL of your WMS Geoserver. Press Get List button to get a list of advertized layers.

- Select the layers you wish to add and click OK.

Connecting to WFS-T services (read, write & locking)
ArcGIS 9.x supports 2. WFS Feature transactions (WFS\-T) through wfsEditor Extension by con terra making full use of the locking and transactional capabilities of GeoServer.

Prerequisites
To connect your ArcGIS 9.x software to WFS-T services you need buy and install wfsEditor Extension.
